Interpreting & Understanding Death Dreams using the Dreamtime Method

Hi Dreamers,
Another dream theme I see frequently is “death.” Death dream themes are
very common and usually are not to be taken literally. I will now use the Dreamtime Method to interpret the following Death Dream.

Dear Dreamtime,
I dreamed I was in a darkly lit room. Someone told me that my father had
died. I woke up feeling very upset and worried. What does this dream mean?
Dreamer

Dear Dreamer,
With this dream, your DreamSelf Within is communicating that within your current
thinking and thoughts creating your now . . . you are in a darkly lit room.

Using the Dreamtime Method, the everyday, physical definition of a “house” can be
thought of as a physical place where one lives. The everyday physical definition of a “room” can be viewed as a sectioned area within a house. The common everyday definition of a “darkly lit” room would be a room with little or no light. Taking the above understandings and adding them together, your DreamSelf in this dream is communicating that within you right now (the house) there is a certain portion of you (the room) that has very little awareness and information (the room being darkly lit) of certain issues that are going on within your everyday Self and your life.

In the dream, someone told you that your father had died. Within each of us are
two types of energy, male and female. Your “male energy” is that part of you within that is your ability to act in life and to take action. Your male energy as a dream symbol is always represented by the image/figure of a man or men in your dream. Your “female energy” is that other half of you within which is your intuition, the doorway to your talents, abilities, and creativity. Your female energy as a dream symbol is always represented by the image/figure of a female or females in your dream.

When you dream of other people that you know in waking reality, whatever you
feel and associate with them is what you are looking at within yourself. In other words, it is like looking into a mirror. The other people that you are dreaming about in the dream are reflecting back to you the aspects and abilities of what you associate with them that you possess similarly within yourself. In understanding this, it means that the dream information being communicated to you in your dream from your DreamSelf regarding that person is actually about you, not them.

The everyday, generic definition of a “father” is a male parent who takes action to provide guidance, support, and nurturing for his child, much as a father should do in everyday life. You did not tell me what you felt about your father in waking reality so you will have to fill in the blanks there. But in general, putting the above dream symbol understandings together, your father dying in your dream is communicating from your DreamSelf that within your life right now, your own ability to nurture your own inner child (your father), that this has died within you (symbolized by the action of your father dying in your dream).
“Darkness” as in little or low light in a dream always interprets to mean that there is “limited awareness” and not a lot of insight (light) going on within you for whatever issue your dream is addressing. Taking the above interpretation/understandings together, coupled with the room in your dream being darkly lit, your dream interprets to mean that right now, regarding the responsibility and caring of your inner child (your hopes and dreams for your life), you have little or no insight of how you are letting this die within
yourself and life. To get a better idea of what this dream is communicating, I would look at where in your life you have failed to listen to your dreams (your inner child) and to nurture and care for them (your father) to the point that it is now totally gone (your father dying).

Your dreams not only tell you what’s going on in your life, but as your own “multidimensional energy” from within attract into your next day and days after dreaming your dream similar three-dimensional (physical energy) to provide the solution for whatever your dream is addressing. It is in this way that your dreams create your everyday, three-dimensional reality. Understanding the above, I would look for ways (the energy) in your next day(s) after dreaming this dream to become more aware of how you are creating the present circumstances of ignoring and not acting on your inner hopes, desires, and undeveloped
creativity so that you can move forward and take action for yourself in a positive way!

Please e-mail me back when you get this and let me know if there is anything that
you did not understand of how I used the Dreamtime Method to interpret your dream.
Thank you again for submitting your dream for interpretation and good dreaming!

Here’s the dreamer’s response to the above Death Dream interpretation:
Dear Terri,
I read your dream interpretation response with much interest. After
dreaming this dream, I called my father who is alive and well, but this dream
sure scared me! You hit the nail right on the head with your interpretation.
My father never pursued his dreams in life and I am not doing the work I
want to do. I have pretty much accepted the fact that I’m not going to be able
to do what I really want with my life. I need to do something, because after
getting this dream, I realize how deeply this is affecting me.
And guess what! I got a call from a friend who wants me to do some
freelancing for him. I guess like you said, the “energy” comes in for you!
Thank you for your help and understanding of this scary dream.

DREAMERS!!!
As you can see from the above death dream, most people are very concerned
that a death and dying dream is precognitive of what is going to happen in their
life. And as you can see from how I interpreted the above death dream and from
the dreamer’s response, that was not the case! Your dream symbols need to be
interpreted as your DreamSelf Within communicates them to you. And that is
always multi-dimensionally, and in most instances, not literally.
